The American College of Osteopathic Emergency Physicians was awarded the American Osteopathic Association’s Strategic Team Award and Recognition, STAR, this past weekend at the 96th Annual Business Meeting of the AOA at the Chicago Marriott Downtown Magnificent Mile Hotel. The STAR Award “recognizes contributions made by state and specialty affiliates, osteopathic medical schools and non-practice affiliates in enhancing the osteopathic medicine culture.” ACOEP was presented the award upon the growth and success of Scientific Assembly.

John Prestosh, DO, ACOEP President, Christine Giesa, DO, ACOEP President-Elect, and Jan Wachtler, ACOEP Executive Director were present to accept the award.

Jan Wachtler credited ACOEP’s successful Scientific Assembly to the organizations various valuable assets.

“I’d like to thank the AOA for this recognition. I’d also like to thank the ACOEP Board for allowing us to try this and being our beta testers, our membership for providing feedback to make it better, and my staff for taking an idea thrown out in our quarterly meeting and making it a reality,” she said.

ACOEP is honored to receive such a wonderful recognition of its hard work, which reflects positively on the entire emergency medicine community that works year-round to better their practice and support.

This year at Scientific Assembly, ACOEP is expanding its efforts even further and we are thrilled to invite you to join us in San Francisco to be a part of this award-winning conference!
