Executive Assistant Geri Phifer retires after more than nine years at ACOEP

This week ACOEP staff gathered to celebrate the hard work and dedication of Executive Assistant Geri Phifer who is retiring at the end of July.

Loved for her wit, warmth, and ability to always find the best price on office supplies, Geri has been a vital member of the ACOEP team since 2010. Geri has always kept the office running smoothly, particularly at conference time when much of the staff is away.  She handled many administrative duties including overseeing graduate medical education program complete resolutions, processing payments, handling committee appointment requests, processing the program directors annual reports, and so much more. Geri has agreed to work part-time to help in the transition to her retirement.

She also helped create an incredible work environment, from sharing stories of her granddaughter Kayla, to baking the world’s best sugar cookies, to acting as head “elf” in the staff holiday party, Geri has an infectious sense of fun and mischief.

While she says she will miss the friends she made at ACOEP, Geri’s looking forward to spending time with Kayla and taking her shopping. There is one thing she won’t miss.

“I’m looking forward to not coming to work in the winter. I hate ice and I can’t skate but last year I could have qualified for the Olympics… would have won a bronze!” Geri said.

Thank you, Geri, for all of your work, humor, and support of all of us at ACOEP!
