Ohio Valley Medical Center (OVMC) and East Ohio Regional Hospitals (EORH) announced they are closing.

The American College of Osteopathic Emergency Physicians is actively working with OVMC’s program director to secure placement for 16 emergency medicine residents, as well as one emergency medicine/internal medicine resident.

“Residency is a critical, difficult time in the best of situations and ACOEP is fully prepared to do everything in our power to assist these residents find new, meaningful placement,” said ACOEP President Christine Giesa, DO, FACOEP-D.

The hospitals have already begun the process of closing, with a final closure date set for October 7th.
