Leah Welsh graduated from Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2013, incorporating an additional OMM teaching year to her studies. Her residency at Aurora Family Medicine in Milwaukee, WI, just flew by, and included two fulfilling months in the ER, as well as an exciting month in the SICU. Quite a bit of time during those rotations were spent advocating for the integration of medically appropriate Osteopathic Manipulation into the care of these sick, and sometimes fragile patients. She then returned to Athens, OH, for a Plus-One NMM year in 2016-17, before being hired by Ohio State University within the Family Medicine Department, at the Center for Integrative Medicine. A majority of her patient population presents for musculoskeletal pain, post-concussive syndromes in adults and children, as well as feeding issues in the pediatric population. Her interests are in education, Osteopathic advocacy, and the pursuit of Osteopathic Recognition for OSU’s Family Medicine Residency Program.
