Dr. Parrillo has been certified in Emergency Medicine since 1984 and involved with disaster planning (now emergency management) since 1980. He was the co-chair of Einstein Healthcare Network’s Emergency Management Committee from 1989 until he resigned in 2016. Dr. Parrillo stepped down as the Medical Director for the Einstein Medical Center Elkins Park Department of Emergency Medicine in January of 2013 in an effort to focus more on disaster medicine. He served as team leader for Einstein’s Hospital Emergency Response Team until 2016. His publications include articles in emergency medicine texts and journals, disaster journals and emergency management textbooks. He serves as Medical Director and Faculty for the Jefferson / Philadelphia University Disaster Medicine and Management Masters Program. Dr. Parrillo is an Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine at both Jefferson Medical College and Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and is Adjunct Professor, College of Health Professions, Jefferson University. He is also very much involved in emergency medical services and was Einstein’s Division Director for EMS and Disaster Medicine until 2016. He serves as Medical Director for a busy ALS service in Chester County and as a member of the Chester County Medical Advisory Committee. In 2011 Dr. Parrillo completed his third three year term on the Board of Directors for the American College of Osteopathic Emergency Physicians and also served on PACEP’s Board for several years including a term as President in 1995. Dr. Parrillo retired from clinical emergency medicine in July of 2017.
