Amber Hathcock, MD

Dr. Amber M. Hathcock is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Emergency Medicine. She attended medical school at Duke University and obtained a Master of Public Health at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Upon graduating, she completed a pediatric residency at Duke University followed by a joint fellowship in pediatric emergency medicine and global health at Texas Children’s Hospital. While at TCH, Dr. Hathcock completed training in tropical medicine and humanitarian emergencies. Her interests include global and public health, with a particular focus on injury prevention. She has worked in Kenya, Singapore, Botswana, and Malawi. In addition to her commitment to excellent patient care, Dr. Hathcock is dedicated to fostering strong medical education opportunities for students and residents as well as promoting research and project implementation in global and public health.
