Once again, emergency physicians are asked to fight battles on multiple fronts. As the war against COVID-19 rages on, we also face a 6% cut to Medicare reimbursement going into effect in 2021.

Speak out now in support of the “Holding Providers Harmless from Medicare Cuts During COVID-19 Act of 2020”, (H.R. 8702) a piece of bipartisan legislation introduced by Rep. Larry Bucshon (R-IN) and Rep. Ami Bera (D-CA).

This critical legislation addresses budget neutrality rules which require any increases in value of one code requires a corresponding decrease in another. The result of this is a substantial cut to reimbursement to physicians on the front lines of the greatest healthcare crisis our country has faced in recent history.
