Annual Competitions and Awards Showcase Best in Emergency Medicine Research 

(CHICAGO – November 9, 2022) — Winners of the 2022 ACOEP awards and the Foundation for Osteopathic Emergency Medicine (FOEM) 2022 Research Competitions were announced at the 2022 American College of Osteopathic Emergency Physicians (ACOEP) Scientific Assembly held October 24-28 in Las Vegas.

ACOEP Award Winners

Christine F. Giesa, DO, FACOEP-D, received the Bruce D. ‎Horton, D.O., FACOEP Lifetime Achievement Award honoring her major contributions to the ‎emergency medicine profession throughout her career. ‎

Stephanie Davis, DO, FACOEP, received the Robert D. ‎Aranosian, DO, FACOEP Excellence in Emergency Medical Service Award for her contributions ‎to the EMS field that have furthered the operation, teaching or development of the ‎specialty.‎

Stephen A. Roskam, DO, FACOEP-D is the recipient of the Benjamin A. Field, ‎DO, FACOEP Mentor of the Year Award, honoring his contributions to teaching emergency ‎physicians, residents and students.‎

Alexis LaPietra, DO, received the Willoughby ‎Leadership Award, which is given to a woman emergency physician who has made significant ‎contributions, as well as being defined as a leader, within the specialty of emergency ‎physicians.
