National Emergency Medicine Leader Looks to Further Mission  

(Chicago – November 9, 2022) — The American College of Osteopathic Emergency Physicians (ACOEP), the association comprised of attending physicians, residents and medical students,has welcomed its new President, Timothy Cheslock, DO, FACOEP at its Scientific Assembly, held October 24-28 in Las Vegas. 

Timothy Cheslock, DO, FACOEP

Timothy Cheslock, DO, FACOEP, practices emergency medicine full time as a member of Brevard Physician Associates in Melbourne, FL. He is a native of Hazleton, Pennsylvania but relocated to Windermere, FL in 2013. He completed his undergraduate studies at King’s College in Wilke-Barre, PA in 1996 with a Bachelor of Science degree as a Physician Assistant. Working as a physician assistant early in his career in primary care, urgent care and emergency medicine gave him a strong foundation in the practice of medicine. In 2003, he returned to school to further his education. He graduated from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2007 and completed an emergency medicine residency at Saint Vincent Health Center in Erie, PA in 2011. He is board certified in emergency medicine by the American Osteopathic Board of Emergency Medicine (AOBEM). As an AOBEM diplomat, he also serves as an oral board examiner for the AOBEM. He is a retired Army Lieutenant Colonel having served in the PA and FL Army National Guard with over 21 years of military service and completed a tour to Afghanistan in 2011. He received an honorable discharge in 2018. He and his wife Stephanie have two children, Abigail and Claire. In his free time, he enjoys the outdoors, travel and time with his family.

ACOEP has provided me with tremendous opportunity since I first became a member in 2004. ACOEP is my professional family, and I am humbled to be able to serve as the President of the organization, “said Cheslock. “ACOEP is positioned for growth, and I welcome this opportunity to highlight all our members but especially our fellows over the next year, while also welcoming new members to our college. Emergency physicians serve the community in settings large and small. We are the safety net of the healthcare system. It is crucial that as a college we support them in quality continuing education, wellness and advocate for their needs, while giving them a professional home that helps support them throughout their career.

Brandon Lewis, DO, MBA, FACOEP, FACEP

Brandon Lewis, DO, MBA, FACOEP, FACEP, was also selected as ACOEP’s President-Elect, and will succeed Dr. Cheslock when he transitions to Immediate Past President in October 2023. 

Newly elected to the board is: Regina Hart, DO, in addition to the new ACOEP Resident and Student Organization (RSO) President Blake Chatham, DO, and RSO Director of Student Affairs Savannah Dimick, OMS III.
