Active shooter situations have become devastatingly familiar to the American public. While there is no consensus on what can and should be done about it, preparedness is key in minimizing the horrifying effects of an active shooter. The Department of Homeland Security has issued a brief statement and list of resources to aid in preparing for a terrible situation such as this.

An Incredible Success at ACOEP’s Scientific Assembly 2015

Over 1200 leaders in emergency medicine joined ACOEP in Orlando for The Edge: Scientific Assembly. ABC News reported, "Health care spending will outpace the nation's overall economic growth over the next decade, the government forecast on Tuesday, highlighting a challenge for the next president, not to mention taxpayers, businesses and individual Americans."
