Teresa Hubka, DO, FACOOG (DIST.), FACOG, CS

Dr Hubka, native of California, began her career in healthcare receiving her degree in Biochemistry and Nutrition Science from University of California at Davis.  She then successfully achieved her Masters of Science in Biology and Clinical Nutrition from the University of Bridgeport in Connecticut.

Dr. Hubka received her osteopathic medical degree (DO) from Des Moines University – Osteopathic Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa.  She completed an osteopathic Internship at Atlantic City Medical Center in New Jersey and Residency in obstetrics and gynecologic surgery at Mercy Hospital & Medical Center in Chicago Illinois where she was the chief administrative resident.

Dr. Hubka is founder and medical director of Comprehensive Wellness Care, a practice of affiliates in Obstetrics and Gynecology, Reproductive Health, Behavioral Health and Integrated Health and Fitness specialists which provides complete health services to women of all ages.  She has practiced Obstetrics and Gynecology in the Lincoln Park area of Chicago, Illinois since 1994. Dr. Hubka practices independently at Presence – Resurrection Medical Center, where she served from 2004 through 2015 as Program Director of the Midwestern University/OPTI: Presence – Resurrection Healthcare Consortium Ob/Gyn Residency program.  She currently is an Advisory Instructor for the Basic and Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics (BLSO, ALSO) courses and has taught in local, national and international conferences since 2013.

Dr. Hubka is dual board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology by the American Osteopathic Board of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.  She is a Distinguished Fellow of ACOOG and a Diplomat of ACOG.  She is a clinical professor and Department Chair of Ob/Gyn, Midwestern University – Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine and also the Clerkship Director for 3rd and 4th year osteopathic students.  Dr. Hubka is a Costin Scholar in Medical Education and Certified in MWU-Master Faculty Series.  Dr. Hubka is an inductee in American Osteopathic Association’s Mentor Hall of Fame.

Nationally, Dr. Hubka is a Trustee of the American Osteopathic Association since 2013 and current Chair of the Department of Education which oversees all the AOA Bureaus/Councils/Committees for Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Continuing Medical Education.  She is a Past President of the American College of Osteopathic Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOOG) and serves as Advisor to the Council of Postgraduates.  She is a Past President of the American Osteopathic Foundation (AOF) – the first female physician.  Dr. Hubka is a Past President of the Illinois Osteopathic Medical Society (IOMS) and of the Des Moines University, Alumni Association.

Dr. Hubka was named in the Chicago’s Magazine as “Top Doctor” in women’s healthcare 2010, 2012 and 2013, 2014 and 2016.  She received the ACOOG Distinguished Service Award 2013-2014, the highest honor bestowed by the College.
