As part of ACOEP’s 2025 Spring Seminar, our Resident Student Programming featured Wilderness Medicine: The Ultimate Emergency Playground!—an immersive, high-intensity experience led by Dr. John Dery. Emergency medicine students and residents from across the country took to Camelback Mountain, where they faced real-life scenarios like heat stroke, fractures, and anaphylaxis in a rugged, unpredictable environment.With no monitors or backup, participants relied solely on their knowledge, field kits, and teamwork. Osteopathic Representation Hits Record High in 2025 Emergency Medicine Match

Congratulations to all our EMIGs and graduating students! The impact and strength of osteopathic applicants representing emergency medicine is undeniable. According to data from the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP), 1,078 osteopathic applicants matched into Emergency Medicine positions in the 2025 Match—the highest number recorded since the transition to the single accreditation system. Out of 3,068 EM positions offered this year, 3,003 were filled, bringing the specialty’s fill rate to an impressive 97.9%.
